Cream Cheese Fruit Dip Ingredients

This easy fruit dip recipe is made with just a few ingredients!

  • Cream Cheese– Full fat, light or whipped – your choice! I'm often asked "Can I Use Reduced Fat Cream Cheese?" Of course! You can cut the saturated fat by substituting reduced fat cream cheese. In fact, it's so flavorful, you won't even notice the difference! Fat free cream cheese works as well. Learn how to soften cream cheese – that's the ONE requirement for this fruit dip, it must be room temperature.
  • Marshmallow Fluff – The ingredient that makes this fruit dip stand above the rest! Also called marshmallow creme (or marshmallow cream, spelling varies depending on your location), it tastes like marshmallows with a completely different texture.
  • Vanilla – Homemade vanilla extract or store bought, whatever you have on hand!

Variations

This Cream Cheese Fruit Dip is absolutely amazing as is, but if you want to mix it up, you can add a couple of fun twists.

  • Citrus – For a hint of citrus flavor, just add a splash of orange juice. It makes this Marshmallow Fruit Dip taste refreshing for summer!
  • Strawberry – For a little strawberry flavor, substitute strawberry cream cheese. It will still blend beautifully with a variety of fruits for dipping.
  • Cherry – Add maraschino cherry juice for a touch of cherry flavor and color!
  • Peanut Butter – Add a scoop of peanut butter to turn this into a delicious peanut butter fruit dip.

I'm not a fan of food coloring in most situations, so adding a little strawberry, orange or cherry flavor also gives you a touch of color variation too!

How to Store Fruit Dip

  • Room Temperature – This fruit dip can be left out on the counter for up to two hours while serving, prior to refrigeration.
  • Refrigerate – Store in an airtight container or in a bowl covered with saran wrap for up to five days refrigerated. It's a great make ahead dip for entertaining!
  • Freezer – Unfortunately you should freeze Cream Cheese Fruit Dip. Cream cheese can separate as the water and solids freeze, so the dip loses that creamy texture we all love and becomes a touch grainy.
